On May 18, 2007 our beloved Commander, Martha E. Dade passed away.  Under Martha's leadership, Our Disabled American Veterans' Auxiliary, Unit 70, received high praises from the District Officers, because our small group completed so many projects and met the required objectives.

 Martha led our unit with courage and compassion.  When living with a life-threatening illness herself, she devoted her time to giving aid and comfort to those around her in distress.  In the twilight hours of her life, Martha gave instructions to family and friends to care for those she felt needed aid and comfort.  Her courage displayed itself in many ways.  She took time to enjoy her days and have fun with those around her.  She participated in her many organizations' activities.  Martha never complained about not feeling well and many around her never knew she was ill.

Martha McDade will be greatly missed by those who have been touched by her loving spirit.
